My Review

If you are looking for the ultimate Halloween read then this is the perfect book!

If you like slasher movies you will devour this book, it’s full of gruesome, ingenious murders that make your toes curl!

Nothing normally happens on the quiet island of Boatmore and the only deaths are natural causes or the odd accident. So when paramedics Liam Price, Martin Fin and new recruit Ben Braithwaite are called out by an SOS phone they have scant details of what to expect, other than they think it is a kid.

When they reach the patient they soon realise this is neither a case of natural causes or an accident. They find the young lad close to death with a deep wound in his side that someone has inflicted and then attempted to sew closed.

As they try to save the boy when his heart stops beating it ends in a result that none of them have ever seen before resulting in the death of their patient and the islands first ever death under suspicious circumstances.

Thus begins the body count which grows at an alarming rate and the hunt for a sick and twisted murderer begins.

This is a really fast paced book, leaving no room to catch your breath.

This isn’t your usual police procedural murder thriller, this is all character driven and reads like a tv boxset or a horror movie and is just as addictive as one.

There are twists aplenty and will keep you captivate and guessing until the very end.

I lost a whole nights sleep to this book as I just couldn’t stop reading, I loved it and I am sure any fans of horror books or gruesome crime thrillers will enjoy this book as much as I did!

The Boatmore Butcher is out to buy now from your local bookshop and is even available to read for free with Kindle Unlimited.

Author Bio

L. Stephenson has been telling stories of killers and boogeymen to his friends and writing them on his computer since the summer before he began high school. A university degree in Film & TV Screenwriting, a handful of anthologies and a novella later, and not much has changed, it seems!

Stephenson’s first short story was published as part of a Halloween-themed collection by Dark Ink back in 2018. Nearly five years later, terror just came full circle as the author has returned home to Dark Ink to release his debut slasher novel, The Boatmore Butcher.
